Its really nice other than its windy everyday and nothing big happens. Though I forgot Hilary Clinton and Obama were here back in Nov or Dec was odd lol.

Yeah, my sister would probably like living there...shes a big horse/nature person.

If we were in like Romania, China, or the olde USSR, it would not be her life - but the "State's life" - I think even Chow didn't see his parents for awhile when he was young training in China and I read some of the other girls on the National Team in China hadn't seen their parents in the past year

...however we are in the USA but according to this Newsweek article, we are all socialists now ... so it might not be Shawn's life anymore to do what she wants after we have taken over (or "effectively nationalized") the Car Industry, the Banking industry, etc.... what is next ? Gymnastics?

Just because Obama is sorting out the financial crisis (on the advice of economists) doesn't mean he'll start selecting children in kindergarten to go into gymnastics and train them like dogs. I was being incredibly sarcastic that is all.. and hey I didn't write the Newsweek article and decide to put on their cover in big bold letters: "We are socialists now" ... although the reference in the article about the French made me laugh ... supposedly Canada's socialized medicine is not a model the US should follow (we don't want something as important as health care run by the Gov't)

and I have taken three economics course in my college career - and my brother once told me, economists as a "breed" are a strange group of people... it is an imprecise science (if you can call it a [social] science)... they don't "effing" know what their actions (or the gov't actions) will really do to an economy (if anything at all.. economies are psychological things and sometimes like forces of nature that no amount of gov't interference is going to redirect (maybe blunt it for awhile ) but other huge tidal forces may need to be present for a different direction to take place... during the last great recession in the early 1980s, then President Reagan said government isn't the solution, it is the problem... a fundamental difference on the proper use of government...

and what does this have to do with the thread topic ? Oh yeah, Shawn's participation in Tyson's Cup 2009 - well socialized gymnastics would have her in training... but instead she is working on her tan (is Iowa a place to get a tan in the winter? LOL) and dancing in La La land... [ maybe Shawn will help the economy from a psychological point of view, wonder if she will be on The View ]

my Dad's is a Harvard Law grad - so I am not that starstuck (starstruck, I think "stuck" is more apt )with the current Prez... I have worked with and been around some really smart people (some of them literally rocket scientists with some of my NASA work in the past) so don't be sooo taken in my someone just because they are smart (they can be wrong just as dumb people can... ) ... some are just fundamentally flawed and use the intelligence in really really bad ways... this post is a perfect example of this (ROFL)

lol I like my cities...which is why I want to move back to Ohio. Big places means that many more street brawls I can drag my friends and I into lol.

Yeah, I'm kinda a smaller city person. I like the city but i dont like being completely immersed with a massive one like chicago. However, it is a really nice city

I'm a city person, London is a great city so I'm pretty lucky to live so close

It seems like its a really nice city with kind of that older feel. Chicago feels very modern with slight old in a few places.

If i woulda had a definite yes that shawn would be there i would have gone to it...but there was never a confirmation so we just said screw it. Ill probably be watching it on tv too

Im sure it would be better, but considering that tour may be a once in a lifetime opportunity if she doesnt make it to 2012 i dont blame her at all for going on it.

She would definitely be healed by now, but I understand Sam doing what she did. Shawn said something about another tour perhaps before 2012.

If they were going to do a tour it would be within the next year so they can prep for the olympics. They wouldnt make the show anywhere near it to make sure all the gymnasts would be healthy and get a lot of prep before them.

It depends, I doubt they would do it in 2011 but 2010 or this year would be do able. Maybe a tour every 2 years lol.

I watch the 2009 Tyson Gymnastics Cup. I was disappointed that Shawn was not there. If Shawn does not get back into shape quickly. Jordyn Wieber is going to give Shawn run for her money in the 2012 Olympics.
I still think Shawn should be in the gym getting back into shape instead of being on a TV Show.
