totorr's graphic
Here is my first banner about Shawn, made with Photofiltre Studio
I'm quite proud of it , but it's not very good I think
I would like so much to use Photoshop, but it's too expensive

Actually, I really like it. Is that background (the flag) in the original photo you used or did you cut Shawn out of an image and put it on the flag?

Very nice cutting job on both. It's very hard to cut without PhotoShop (or at least it was when I had to use GIMP and Paint.NET before I got PS.
Re: totorr's graphic
Thanks =)
But in fact I've downloaded the trial version of Photoshop to make the wallpaper, and maybe I'll buy it because it's a really awsome software

Wow! Your very good at using the pen tool and creating the energy beam things.
Also, I like the rainbow effect. What I would personally recommend though would be to make the rainbow itself (not the beam) lighter and then make the beam brighter. I also wanted to add that the text you chose to do is alright, but it's generally one of those beginner types of text that you got straight from a tutorial. I'm not saying that tutorials are bad, but it's very helpful to experiment with different things on your own. In the case of "text" I would say that you should try to experiment with different font sizes, fonts, effects (in PS make sure to use the effects by double clicking on the text layer and it should bring up a list of effects and options to choose from), and placements. I like to have one word one certain color, font, and size, with a couple of different effects, and then have the other word with a slightly different color, and different fonts, and things. I also wanted to say that you've done another great rendering job. But if you do use a render over using stock photos you also need to do something in your background. Make sure that you have something going on in all views of depth (foreground, middle ground, and background), and don't limit it to just one specific area if your doing such a large piece. Here's a piece done by a very talented artist that shows many of the things I'm saying right now http://phoenix-06.deviantart.com/art/Unjust-Fate-83499721. His text flows incredibly well with the image and he also has things going on all over his image.
You and Matt are really taking off on your art though. If you guys want, we could possibly do a collaboration some time.

Re: totorr's graphic
No problem, and I'm sorry that I forgot that your not English. I should have remember from when you and Nicole were talking to each other in French.
The next time that Matt comes on I'll ask him if he's interested and we can plan something out.

Re: totorr's graphic
lol Well that's good. I wish I could say that your french is helping me with my french, but I don't know any french. xD
Re: totorr's graphic
I know singers and directors like putting french sentences in their songs and movies, but sincerely, I don't understand why
grammar and spelling rules are so stupid and difficult

I AGREE 100%. I have been having an English class since the 4th grade or maybe it was 3rd. Man French grammar is soo hard compared to English.. English has a LOT less rules and exceptions.
Re: totorr's graphic
I think English is my favorite subject

Re: totorr's graphic
haha.. I really like your second wallpaper! You guys are all great graphics designers! A lot better than I am
Re: totorr's graphic
lol totorr; using tutorials does not make you a noob. I use tutorials on things a lot. I learned a bunch of cool stuff from tutorials and eventually you'll be able to create stuff without having to refer to a tutorial. Like the websites background; I didn't use any tutorials for it but everything in the photo came from a tutorial that I read before from one point or another (except for a few things that I just learned from trial and error).
Re: totorr's graphic
I use a lot of tutorials, they help educate you on different techniques and how to use certain parts of PS. I would say if you don't have someone to show you how to use PS, tutorials are the next best thing unless you wanna self-teach yourself which would take a really long time.

Re: totorr's graphic
Yes, self teaching does take a while, but it's worth it in the long run. Self teaching yourself can lead to great things and your own unique style. But my advice is to use some tutorials to help build up your knowledge of color, depth, lighting, shapes, and all other aspects of art, but also try some things out on your own (experiment).
