Forum outages? Empty Forum outages?

Post  alcazar Sat Jan 31, 2009 3:32 pm

Hi Godfather? Anyone? I keep getting locked out by a message that says the forum has exceeded it's bandwidth?
What can I/we do about it?
Thanks.

I didn't know the forum wasn't working. The site exceeded its bandwidth today, I don't exactly know what it is but I know what causes it to do that. With my host I've got a certain space for how much traffic I get on the site and if its over that amount of space the website won't run.

Well, when it happens to me, it's not the forum that does it, it's the entire site. Which I guess includes the forum, but still. It happens to me a lot, but then 5 minutes later it's fine again. So idk...

lol! yes it does. Whenever I type in www. the first three things that come up are:
1. this site
2. Shawn's official site
3. facebook

In my defence, I bookmark a lot of sites but I'd say this site would still be in the top 3

Bandwidth controls the amount of traffic that you can get on the site at a time (usually an amount of bandwidth is set up monthly). If this amount is exceeded then the site closes down for a little until more bandwidth is available. I didn't look up the definition of bandwidth or anything, so don't quote me on that. Very Happy I'm just defining from my own knowledge.
