Haha Dallas, I feel your pain. I enjoy soccer and whatnot, but I don't really keep up with stuff like FIFA.

That's my same situation. It's not a big enough sport here in America. The only time it's really on is for the World Cup.

hey i play soccer too, so that makes like 100 of us! lol. we placed 2nd in the state of Illinois this year (high school). But, European futbol is soooooo much better than american soccer. I'm sure you would all agree with me on that.

Re: DID Shawn go back to school?
I play soccer as well. Our school has a very, very, very bad team, so it's kind of hard to find a group of people with a skill level that's compatible to me. I usually play stopper or goalie since we generally have to keep on the not so good players in the offensive spots to at least let us be able to end in a tie. There's like 5 decent guys on our team. I used to play mid field and striker though, back in the day. But now I'm old, out of shape, and have the lung capacity of a chain smoker (I don't smoke, it's just an expression) so I don't even mind playing goalie. I'm quick, but if you told me to run a 2 miles, I would die.

LoL. Same. I have no stamina and I'm always out of shape.

Re: DID Shawn go back to school?
I played this morning for my team and we actually won, 3-2. I scored the 2nd goal but then got absolutely crashed into by this fat defender which meant I had to be subbed off. I'm alright now though

I feel ya, man. I'm skinny, and I'm quick, but I'm not in shape at all. Hahahaha. Like I can do short sprints (maybe like 100 yards) but afterwards I'm breathing like a beached whale.

Soooooooooooooo that would be why the USA U20 ladies won their world cup in 2008, and the U17's were second, would it? LOL
Meghan Klingenberg rocks! She just totally RULES the left side of defence, and is 5'3" !!!!!!!!!

Re: DID Shawn go back to school?
i am glad that a majority of you have played soccer! for club i played center mid and forward, for hs i played forward, and for odp i played outside mid. i had to have knee surgery this past summer so i can't play as well anymore. i'm too old to have the opportunity to play in that competitive a league anymore. i think it's time to retire! but still it's a great sport.
i think the us national teams are getting better every year, and the women's side has always been pretty dominate since about 92 i think when they won the world cup. the men's side has not been as successful unfortunately. i think that our soccer system is really unorganized and biased compared to other countries.

Re: DID Shawn go back to school?
Men's european football is miles better than anywhere else in the world but that is mainly because all the best players from around the world come to the biggest clubs, which happen to be located in Europe. I think if this new FIFA rule where 5 of the starting XI have to be from the same country as the club then things will be a lot better

Re: DID Shawn go back to school?
kyle that is awesome! there are a lot of people who refuse to shoot with their "weaker" foot, so you are a double threat! you are gonna be harder to defend than someone who only uses their strong foot
i was watching an epl game, and then after they showed the mls cup on espn, and you could easily see the difference in calibre of the players and teams as a whole. european soccer>north american soccer.

I think American soccer is really on the rise and should become the second best region in the world because more players are wanting to move there

Can't see it happening in Europe, mate, the ECHR will put a stop to it before it even starts. Remember Bosman?
